JOB DESCRIPTION
The Vice President of Grant Development will lead our grant acquisition and management strategy, enhancing the organization's ability to secure funding from government, private foundations, and corporate sources. This role is pivotal in expanding our funding base, driving strategic initiatives, and supporting the mission critical projects of the organization. The VP will oversee the grant writing team, manage relationships with funders, and ensure compliance with grant requirements.

THIS POSITION WILL ENTAIL:
  • Developing and executing a comprehensive grant seeking strategy.

  • Leading, mentoring, and expanding the grant writing team.

  • Building and maintaining relationships with key funders and stakeholders.

  • Overseeing the research, identification, and securing of new funding opportunities.

  • Managing the full lifecycle of grants, from proposal writing to compliance and reporting.

  • Collaborating with various departments to align grant opportunities with organizational goals and projects.

  • Ensuring accuracy and timeliness in the submission of all grant applications.

  • Monitoring changes in grant regulations and requirements to ensure compliance.

  • Other duties as assigned, etc.

DESIRED SKILLS QUALIFICATIONS:
  •  Strong leadership and management skills.

  •  Excellent writing, editing, and verbal communication skills.

  •  Proven track record in securing significant funding through grants.

  •  Deep understanding of grant funding policies and procedures.

  •  Strategic thinker with strong analytical skills.

  •  Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

  •  High degree of organization and attention to detail.

 REQUIRED EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Nonprofit Management, Public Administration, or a related field.

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in grant writing and management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role overseeing a grant development team.

 PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master’s degree in a related field.

  • Experience working in nonprofit, education, or government sectors.

  • Extensive network of contacts in the grant funding community.

 CERTIFICATIONS:

  • Certification from the Grant Professionals Certification Institute (GPCI) or similar is preferred.
