JOB DESCRIPTION
Digital Factory is looking for a professional Operations Manager to coordinate and oversee our organization’s operations. The operations manager role is mainly to implement the right processes and practices across the organization. The specific duties of an operations manager include formulating strategy, improving performance, procuring material and resources and securing compliance. You should be ready to mentor your team members, find ways to increase quality of customer service and implement best practices across all levels. Ultimately, we’ll trust you to help us remain compliant, efficient and profitable during the course of business.

THIS POSITION WILL ENTAIL:
  • Ensure all operations are carried on in an appropriate, cost-effective way

  • Improve operational management systems, processes and best practices

  • Purchase materials, plan inventory and oversee warehouse efficiency

  • Help the organization’s processes remain legally compliant

  • Formulate strategic and operational objectives

  • Examine financial data and use them to improve profitability

  • Manage budgets and forecasts

  • Perform quality controls and monitor production KPIs

  • Recruit, train and supervise staff

  • Find ways to increase the quality of customer service

  • Provide leadership and guidance to the operations team, including supervisors, coordinators, and staff, to ensure alignment with company goals and objectives.

  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and optimization across all operational areas, including production, logistics, supply chain, and facilities management.

  • Allocate resources effectively to maximize productivity and minimize costs while maintaining quality standards and compliance with regulations.

  • Develop and implement key performance indicators (KPIs) to track and measure the performance of operational processes and initiatives, and take corrective actions as needed.

  • Contribute to the development and implementation of operational strategies and plans that align with the company’s overall objectives and growth initiatives.

  • Manage relationships with vendors, suppliers, and contractors to ensure timely delivery of goods and services and negotiate favorable terms and agreements.

  • Implement and maintain quality assurance processes and procedures to ensure products and services meet customer expectations and regulatory requirements.

  • Identify potential risks and develop strategies to mitigate them, ensuring operational continuity and compliance with safety, security, and environmental standards.

  • Develop and manage operational budgets, monitor expenses, and implement cost-saving initiatives to optimize financial performance.

  • Collaborate with other departments, such as sales, marketing, finance, and human resources, to coordinate activities and achieve overall business objectives.

DESIRED SKILLS QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Proven work experience as an operations manager or similar role

  • Knowledge of organizational effectiveness and operations management

  • Experience budgeting and forecasting

  • Familiarity with business and financial principles

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Strong leadership and people management skills with the ability to motivate and inspire teams to achieve goals and objectives.

  • Outstanding organizational skills

  • Ability to think strategically and develop long term plans and solutions to improve operational efficiency and effectiveness. 

  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze complex issues, identify root causes, and develop practical solutions.

  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey information clearly and persuasively to various stakeholders.

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to analyze data, interpret trends, and make data-driven decisions.

  • Proficiency in project management methodologies to effectively plan, execute, and monitor operational projects and initiatives.

  • Sound judgment and decision-making skills with the ability to make timely and effective decisions, even in high-pressure situations.

  • Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy in managing operational processes, documentation, and reporting.

  • Flexibility and adaptability to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities simultaneously.

  • Knowledge of industry best practices, regulations, and standards related to operations management.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE:

  • Master’s degree in Operations, Business Management, Business Administration or related field

  • 5+ years of experience in operations management, preferably in a related industry or environment

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Prior experience with start-ups is a plus.

  • Ability to diagnose problems quickly and foresee potential issues

  • Strategic Thinking to develop long-term plans that align with business objectives

  • Ability to lead organizational change initiatives and effectively manage transitions within the company (Change Management). 

Certification (Preferred):

  • Certification in Operations Management

  • PMP

  • Six Sigma
