JOB DESCRIPTION
The Human Resources EVP will lead the Human Resources department with a wide range of projects related to recruiting, university relations, onboarding/orientation, talent management, employee engagement, and culture initiatives. The EVP of Human Resources will be the driving force behind strategic planning for the department.

Reports to: Lawrence Griffith, Executive
Location: Chicago, Illinois

THIS POSITION WILL ENTAIL:

This position will entail:

  • Design and execute recruiting strategies to attract, evaluate and hire qualified candidates.

  • Proactively identify and address hiring needs.

  • Evaluate and refine sourcing and selection procedures.

  • Manage a team of recruiters and provide assistance as needed.

  • Promote diversity in the workplace and ensure recruiting strategies attract diverse candidates.

  • Oversee and improve overall candidate experience.

  • Maintain talent pipelines with potential candidates.

  • Organize recruitment events to establish a strong employer brand.

  • Participate in our company’s strategic planning regarding employee development and engagement.

  • Ensure proper onboarding and training for new hires.

  • Develop talent management strategies to increase employee engagement.

  • Strategize and outline culture initiatives (i.e., create engagement surveys and use data analytics to comprehend data).

  • Partner with VP of Talent Acquisition and the Director of HR to create additional initiatives for recruiting, university relations, talent management and employee engagement.

DESIRED SKILLS QUALIFICATIONS:

Desired Skills & Qualifications: 

  • 10+ years of experience in the HR field or a related industry.

  • Ability to prioritize tasks and handle numerous assignments simultaneously.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and internet applications.

  • Genuine enthusiasm for an interest in working with people.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication.

  • Prior experience with start-ups is a plus.

  • Problem-solving and critical thinking skills.

  • Reliable and detail-oriented.
